LABYRINTH OF DREAMS

The Labyrinth of Dreams is a collaborative installation that was created for Burning Man 2017. Participants were invited to follow the roped path, leading to a meditation teepee within. The multi-use structure was continuously open for activation by anyone during the festival. For the 6 days of its existence, the space served as a wind shelter, yoga studio, mediation hall, bedroom and dance floor. In order to reach the center gathering space, visitors were required to spend several minutes walking the spiral rope path. This ancient practice of labyrinth-walking created moments of introspection upon entering and exiting the space. The Labyrinth of Dreams is a collaborative design by Gabrielle Abbott, David Bell and Matt Veltkamp. The space was constructed and maintained with additional help by member of Camp Luminos 2017.
