Gabrielle Abbott has a diverse practice that includes site-specific installation, mixed media painting, digital video and community activism. Her subject matter explores social justice, spirituality and sexual expression. She is known for her ability to combine contemporary subjects with the traditional painting techniques she studied in Florence, Italy. Gabrielle's murals and chalk paintings have been committed around the world, by clients including Microsoft, The Hague City Government, and Bellevue Arts Museum. She exhibits internationally, and has won awards for her paintings and digital illustrations. As a teacher and activist, she focuses on serving the needs of her community, and fostering the creative empowerment of her students. In addition to her own practice, Gabrielle partners with various organizations to direct community art projects in and around Seattle.
