New Burning Man Mural, 2022!

“The Dreamers”

New mural created for Burning Man, 2022

After three years away- burners around the world (including me) returned home this year to bring art, whimsy and passion to the playa.

This year, I finally realized a long-time dream of creating a community mural at the burn.

“The Dreamers” is inspired by the 2022 event theme “Waking Dreams.” It shows an entwined couple, sleeping while their dreams co-mingle.

The image was outlined before the event, and transported to the playa for installation in our camp. Throughout the week, the public was invited to come paint in the shapes using colors provided. At the end of the week, the finished art was transported back home, where I retouched the black outlines (and cleaned off all the dust). The final piece is currently installed at “Spaceworks” Gallery in Tacoma, WA.

Spaceworks is a organization that activates empty windows displays with art installation in Downtown Tacoma. My mural is currently visible in the historic “Woolworths” department store building until mid-December, 2022.
